Quick start — in under 10 minutes
This guide walks you through unpacking, setup, and first steps in Trezor Suite®. Follow the order below for the safest results. If you already have a backup or seed phrase, skip ahead to Restore from backup.
Unbox & verify
Confirm the tamper-evident seal is intact. Do not use the device if the seal is damaged. Keep the box and packaging until setup is complete.
Download Trezor Suite®
Visit the official site to download the Trezor Suite® desktop app for your OS or use the web app. Always verify the URL and checksums where provided.
Connect your device
Use the supplied USB cable. When prompted, confirm the device fingerprint on both the hardware screen and the app.
Create a new wallet
Choose Create new in the app. Write down the recovery seed on the supplied card — never store it digitally. Trezor will ask you to confirm several words to verify the seed.
Set a PIN
Set a PIN directly on the device. The PIN protects the device if it is lost or stolen. Use a PIN you can remember but that others cannot guess.
Restore from backup (optional)
If you previously backed up a seed, choose Restore wallet instead of creating a new one and enter the recovery words when prompted.
Update firmware
After setup, check for firmware updates in Trezor Suite®. Apply updates only from within the official app. Do not install firmware from untrusted sources.
Receive funds
Generate a receive address in Trezor Suite® and confirm it on your device before transferring funds. Test with a small amount first.
Security tips
- Never share your recovery seed with anyone — legitimate support will never ask for it.
- Store your seed offline in a secure location (safe or safety deposit box).
- Enable passphrase protection for an additional layer of security (advanced users).
- Keep your device firmware and Trezor Suite® app up to date.
Troubleshooting
If your device doesn't respond: try a different USB port/cable, restart the app, or reboot your computer. If problems persist, consult official support.
